Layering Blog Post- Taofeek Saka

 Layering Blog Post

Investigate one artist from this week that incorporates the Postmodern principle of layering.

Artist this week I chose: Takashi Murakami

What have you learned about Layering?

What i have learned about layering is that In art, layering refers to letting one application of paint dry before adding another. Watercolors are typically translucent, but oils and acrylics can also be translucent, and thus the layers beneath affect the color.

How do contemporary artists use the concept of Layering in their artwork?

Some way i believe artist use the concept of layering is Adding layers to your visual art can add complexity, depth, and dimension. Most art programs offer layers as a useful feature, whether you're drawing cartoons, painting digital portraits, or editing photos. Mugabe beliefs that layering and art really tells something about the world and we need it more in our life's.

How might you be able to use Layering in your own art?

How i can use layering in my own art work would be Using two sheets of glass or clear plastic, draw on them. One side has a background, and the other side has a person. You can paint more in the background without worrying about affecting the person when you put them together. You can see all the layers combined together, but you work on each one separately, and the top layer will conceal parts of layers below it. Those are some ways i find interested in using layering in art.

Is there something that you found in your investigation that specifically interested or inspired you?

What i found interesting is A layer can make it look like one shape is in front of or behind another. Your paintings will look beautiful, complex, and colorful when you use layering skillfully. If you contrast sections of a painting with subtle color blends, you can make areas of strong flat color even more powerful.
